Andres (Andy) Sanchez, pronouns They/He, is a queer/trans Mexican poet, author of This Body. He migrated to the U.S. at the age of 5 and grew up in Southern California and Las Vegas, NV. Andy moved to Los Angeles, California 8 years ago. It was here that he began to get involved with the poetry community. In October 2018, Andy was accepted into the Community Literature Initiative Program (CLI), and became a participant in the 6th cohort of students. His book, This Body was picked up for publication by World Stage Press in 2020. Andy is a teacher for the Community Literature Initiative. He currently lives in Highland Park with their dope black cat Copal.
